Construction Waste Management and Resource Cycling Project
Absrtact |
There are a total of four dimensions constituting the primary tasks in this plan. We have some achievements in relevancy, stated as follows:
1. Master how does the utilization rate of resources go in a construction project and related wastes
Sand and gravel account for the most part of raw materials for construction projects in Taiwan, which comes up with 70 million tons approximately each year. There were around 77 million tons of material output for earthworks every year (2.15 million tons of recycled for reuse and 22 million tons of building materials); 2.07 million tons of wastes from construction sites (around 1.15 million tons for reused products). Moreover, although materials including but not limited to calcium silicate board, gypsum board and environmentally friendly plastic wood can be recycled as raw materials, their own products account for most of it. Construction companies are suggested to enable these materials to be raw materials for cement kilns to expand the recycling channels.
2. Analysis of construction waste resource cycle strategies and the current status of links to the construction industry
With a full research and analysis on the recycling construction policies across three countries, Japan, South Korea, and Germany, as well as comparison made against our country, I also cooperated with visits to clarify the links to construction and related resources with industries, proposing to develop recycling standards adopt practices of using the historic information of buildings etc.
3. Review existing
